Wednesday's Wonderful Collection - Pulaski County, Arkansas, jail records, MS.516

A contract between the Pauly Jail Building and Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, Missouri, and Pulaski County, Arkansas, to build a new jail was signed October 2, 1885. On February 6, 1928, W.E. Lenon was appointed to supervise the razing of the jail and the construction of a new jail. Architectural plans were drawn by architects Thompson, Sanders, and Ginocchio. Construction proposals were received from companies that included W. Frank Ault, Herman and McCain Construction Company, J.H. Leveck and Sons, Stewart-McGehee Construction Company, Fred Parrott, and Gordon Walker. The contract originally awarded to Herman McCain was transferred to Gordon Walker on June 26, 1928. The final payment to Gordon Walker was approved December 29, 1928.
